Guthrie and Sarah Jane (Johnson). His grandfather was Robert Guttery and garndmother was Sarah Ann (Williams). Robert and Sarah had numerous children. Your Columbus Guthrie may be one of their grandchildren. Those families seemed to name their children after relatives a lot. Newton , Sarah and children ended up in Texas. A lot of Alabama Guthrie's (Guttery, another spelling of the name) appear to have moved to Texas east of San Antonio around 1880.
