GA Ordinary's Minutes." This tells us there was a Wm Guthrey as one of 3 providing security for the Administration Bond. Had not seen William Guthrey's name in relation to guardianship (have seen William Andrews who I believe is my ancestor also called "Buck" Andrews.--look forward to seeing what you can find. Thanks

I think everyone's changed email addresses over the past few years (me included), so we've lost contact. I believe I sent you the document and posted it at a Guthrey myfamily.com website, which is now defunct. As I think I had it on my old office computer, I'll have to figure out which of the 30 or so floppy disks it's now on. There was definately a connection between William and Beverly Guthrey, with the widow's administration and the guardianship of Beverly's minor children. I believe I typed out all the docs, but will have to search for the electronic copy as well as copies of the microfilmed original documents. Unfortunately, still no clues to the parents of William and Beverly. Ben Guthrie of Albuqueque NM has traveled to many libraries in the southeast looking for clues, but no real leads. I think the fact the Beverly was married in Cumberland Co. VA should lead us to that area. However, a few years back I contacted someone who had identi! fied all the Guthrie/Guthreys in the Cumberland Co. records at that time, and it seems Beverly is the only one not connected to the others. We found that William Guthrey had vouched for administration bond for Beverly's widow, and also guardianship for her minor children, along with another brother-in-law. I will have to look this up. Not sure if I entered it in my notes for William. But my Uncle Lloyd found the documents on microfilm and made copies, not transcriptions.

Guthrie's daughters as young women. I can't make it work and so I suppose no one else can either. I do apologize. Here is the description. I will send a jpg upon request. Description: As best we can tell, this appears to be a picture of the GUTHRIE girls...daughters of Michael J. Guthrie and Mary E. Reynolds Guthrie. In order by birth, the girls are Margaret "Maggie" (Muehlner) b. @1866, Agnes F. (Lee) b. @1869, Mollie b. @1870, Josephine "Josie" Elizabeth (Edmundson) b. 1872, Annie M. (McCartney) b. 1874, and Rosella [or maybe Rose Ella] E. "Rose" (Tenny) b. @1876. The copy I received indicated that Anna was the individual in the lower right (facing the picture). Maggie is believed to be the one in the center but we are not sure. Josie is the girl in the upper right standing next to Rose who is also in the back row. On either side of Maggie (if the center individual is Maggie) appears to be Agnes (to the left) and Mollie to the right. Please understand that this is a "best guess". I would love imput on this.

My g/father, Julius Thomas Guthrie, was born in Mumford, Al. to John B. and Emma Kirkpatrick Guthrie. However, he moved to Comanche and married there in the late teens. I believe he worked for a time with the Kirkpatricks of Comanche who were shoemakers. I have been totally unable to find anything on him, but feel there must be some relation with your Guthrie or one heck of a coincidence (I grew up in Comanche and there ain't that much there!) I did find that he was living with his sister-in-law, Lena McDonald Guthrie, in Manchester, Georgia. His nephews would be Philip and James. Don't know the brother's name, tho.
