His children were Samuel, Mary, Sarah or Sally, and Jane. Nancy is buried in Elijah Allen Cemetery in Lawrence County, IN, but I do not have a burial site for William.

Parents John Guthrie and Mary Fuller. William had two brothers John Guthrie born abt 1788 in VA and brother Robert Guthrie born Feb 13, 1783 in Maryland. All three brothers were in Ohio and joined the Ohio Volunteers for the war of 1812. They were all in the same company and were surrendered at Detroit. William moved to Orange County IN around 1820 and married Elizabeth Rigney in 1823. He lived the rest of his life in Stampers Creek Orange County. Want more info, please respond

I had hoped to find a list of heirs but there was only an inventory. He would have been about the right age to have been Daniel's father, but could find no clue. The only other Guthrie listed in the estate records for that county was a John Guthrie dated 1750.

Guthrie served on the Dartmouth faculty from 1930 to his retirement in 1963. He lived in nearby Norwich, VT. Guthrie was awarded the Marjorie Peabody Waite award of the National Academy of Arts and Ltters in 1970 for his book length poem, "Maximum Security Ward", which he wrote when he thought he was dying of cancer. Guthrie authored three other books of poetry, two novels and translated two works from French. He had numerous art exhibitions amd was considered an authority on the works of Marcel Proust. Munro. Had lots of children including :- Mary, Elizabeth (my mother), Annabel (Nan), Jenny, Robert, Gordon, Charlie, Johnnie, Tommy, Edward(?), Ernest(?) -- Last two emigrated to Canada about 1925. The mother died about 1925 and the younger members of the family were put into Aberlour orphanage. Through the mother they were related to Munro's (Murdoch ?) in Lenzies. Any information most welcome.
