This is a repeat of my message sent in January of 1999 and again in December 2002. To date, I have received no replies and I'm hoping that, since then, someone might have seen something that could provide a link to my great grandmother: My great grandfather was George Butler HALLADAY, born in 1819 in South Crosby Township, Leeds County, Upper Canada (Ontario). About 1849, he married my great grandmother, Catharine GUTHRIE, born in Ireland about 1833. They lived near Allenford, Bruce County, Ontario. I have collected considerable information on my great grandfather's family but I have nothing at all on my great grandmother. I can only assume that she was related to one of the Guthrie families living in Bruce, Leeds or Lanark Counties at the time of her marriage but, considering the relatively free interchange between Ontario and the adjacent States, her family could have been based in the US. I would like to hear from anyone doing related research and particularly from anyone who has any information linking Catharine Guthrie to her family. Regards, Al Currie Surrey, BC
I've "rescued" two photographs belonging to the LOVELESS and SHIVELY Families. The first is an old photo postcard of Oscar LOVELESS dated August 30, 1913. The photo postcard was sent by "Hattie L." to her sister Mrs. Ona SHIVLEY in LeRoy, Michigan. I'm wondering if Hattie L. is actually Hattie LOVELESS and Oscar is her husband. The postcard message is: "Dear Sister, How are you I am just fine, I will have to go to school Monday morning well Ona I wish you wood write and tell me how Darrel is, Well Ona Oscar told me to send you this card this is his picture, well this is by from Hattie L." The second photograph is of Ona SHIVLEY and her daughter Ellen Caroline. There is no photography studio or location identified on the photograph. The photograph was probably taken in the early 1900's with Ona appearing to be in her 20's at the time with the baby likely just a couple months old at the time. With the help on a SHIVELY researcher I find that Ona and Oscar are siblings, Ona's maiden name being LOVELESS. Ona and her family are included in the 1920 census at Alma City, MI including: Frank SHIVELY, age 37 (b. 1882 in Rose Lake, MI, son of Joseph SHIVELY b. 1852 in Ontario, CAN, d. 1927 Osceola Co., MI and his wife Caroline Elizabeth DENNIS b. 1848 in CAN, Frank d. 1959) Ona SHIVELY age 29 (Ona R. LOVELESS maiden name) Ellen SHIVELY age 10 (obviously the baby in the photograph, Ellen m. Ralph V. GUTHRIE) William SHIVELY age 8 Darrell SHIVELY age 7 (the child that Hattie inquires about in the postcard) Mabel SHIVELY age 4 Joseph SHIVELY age 3 I'm hoping to find someone from this family so that these treasures can be returned to the family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Nicholas McCall in Dec 1967, subsequently married David Pratt and divorced, attended Hialeah High School, worked at Aerodex in Miami Springs FL before it closed down, and left Miami to go to New York to stay with her grandmother. She has a brother named Glen. She said her father died of cancer and her mother committed suicide, and afterwards she and her brother went to live with her uncle.
