Went there last summer and have photos of their grave, if you want. I think Bonnie and Flora must be the same. The one I have talked to is Scott Minor in Fayetteville and he remembers our family very well. That's where I got the name Emanda. First to answer Mickie, I have no connection to any of the Cherokee Guthrie s. Early in my research I tracked down the family enough to determine they were seperate from the Guthrie's (my family) that moved from NE Alabama to an area SW of Ft. Smith, Arkansas. William CarrollGuthrie and his brother John Jackson moved to the Indian Territory about 1886 and settled for a while close to Poteau. William Carroll had a son William Riley who lived in Hartshorne, OK. My father John Orbrey was born in Hartshorne. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------- Philemon Guthrie was born Aug. 30, 1801 and christianed Sep. 8, 1804 in Chenango Co., Sherburne, N. Y. and died June 1887 in Jackson Co., Kansas City, Missouri while visiting his youngest daughter. He married 1825 in Crawford Co., Pennsylvania to Harriet Louisa Leanard, born 1804 in Crawford Co., PA and died 1855 in Caldwell Co., Missouri. He married second in July 1857 Hodges who is buried near Evansville, Arkansas. I have a short historical sketch on Philemon Children of Philemon Calvin Parson Loren Fernando Jeanette Abraham Sylvania Harriet Louisa Mary Harriet Some of what I sent earlier may be confusing to some. It is to me. There were two Calvin Guthrie's. The first one was Calvin Parson Guthrie. According to my information: Calvin Parson (Do-yas-kah-nah-hee-lah) was born November 5, 1829 in Crawford Co., Pennsylvania and died April 17, 1907 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Calvin married Sarah Ann Adair (Oo-yos-hah-nah-hee-tah), born 1834 in the Cherokee Nation East, Georgia, died March 7, 1885 in Stilwell, I.T. Sarah was 1/4 Cherokee Indian. Calvin and Sarah are both buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Stilwell. Calvin married second, Martha Jane Fields, born Aug. 18, 1861 in Stilwell and died Jan. 6, 1932. Martha was 3/32 Cherokee. Children of Calvin Parson Loren Philemon Calvin Price (the second Calvin) William Tennessee Sarah Ann Walter Duncan Joseph Maude Alice Florence Azalee Oscar Adair I have additional information on this family going forward and backward.
