Looking for any information on African American Gullick families from the following areas: Tennessee, Oklahoma, Kansas, Michigan. My great great grandfather was George Gullick (born in Tennessee in about 1864) who married Nancy (Nannie) Napier (Nancy was raised Napier, however, her maiden name was Scaman; she was born in Tennessee about 1865). They lived in Tennessee where George owned two farms (as told to me by one of his grandsons, he also said that some sharecroppers worked the land--would like to know how to verify either part of this). At the turn of the 20th century (abt. 1900 or 1901), they moved to Oklahoma Territory and stayed for a while. Later in the 1900's, about the 1920's or so, they moved to Kansas. Some eventually moved to Michigan. George and Nannie had 16 children, 8 boys and 8 girls. George was the son of Anthony Gullick and Lucy (?) Gullick (both born about 1820, Anthony in Tennessee and Lucy in North Carolina-?). Both Anthony and Lucy are listed as Mulattos. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
