Catherine's 2nd marriage was to Taylor Gulick, who was born in Des Moines, IA. This may be why she ended up in IA. Dhe died in Clarion, Wright Co., IA. 25 Sept 1893.

George, son of John House Bunger and Eva Elssa House, migrated from VA to Elkhart Co IN probably around early 1820s. I believe he had a land grant dated 30 SEP 1825. How did Catherine end up in IA?

Surnames: Quick, Adams, Dailey, Gorrell, Gulick, Davies Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Big.2ACIB/148 Message Board Post: I'm trying to determine parentage for Maria Gulick who married Petrus Quick. Most of the compiled genealogies that I've found so far identify Maria as the daughter of Joachem Gulick and Gertie Jans. One lists her as the daughter of Hendrick Gulick and Catherine Amerman. According to Arthur C. Quick's book, 'History of the Quick Family in America' (1942), Maria was "a granddaughter of Joakim Gulick, who came to America in 1653, settled first at Gravesend, Long Island. He took the oath of Allegiance in 1687. Previous to 1717 he moved to Six-Mile-Run, Somerset Co., where he owned 330 acres lying on both sides of the Ten-Mile-Run brook. He had 2 sons, John and Peter Gulick, but it is not known which was the father of Maria."(p.38) A.C. Quick's description seems to match most accounts of Joakim/Joachem who was the son of Hendrick Van Gulick. From the contributed family trees at Rootsweb & Family Tree Maker site, I've discovered that Jochem Gulick (1649-1711) had 12 children; of these, Hendrick, Teunis, Jochem & Pieter each had a daughter named Maria... I'm a descendant of the Maria Gulick who married Petrus Quick, through their son, Tunis who m. Magdalena. Thank you to anyone who can steer me towards more concrete data. -Alissa

She was instrumental in the trees that are on our campus. We are trying to write a story for the college magazine about her and include a photo. Unfortunately during the depression no yearbooks were produced. We believe she never married. In 1993 we received a letter from her about the tree planting and she stated she was 87 years young. Any information or photo would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am looking for a copy of Ferdinand and John (his son) Gulick's Wills. Also, I would like some more information on Miriam Gulick, where she was born, married and died. Miriam was John's wife. I need the two Wills to help with proof of descendency for membership to DAR. Does anyone know where Taylor Gulick is buried? Taylor was Miriam and John's son. Taylor married Catherine Bunger, who died in 1893 in Wright Co., IA. according to her death certificate. Thank you very much. Sincerely, Beth Warner Perona
