    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Big.2ACIB/19.67.1 Message Board Post: I was wondering if you had any kind of searchable records, since you have been maintaining a family newsletter for so many years. I have just gotten on the trail of a Gulick family that might have married into the primary family I'm researching, the Groves of Middlesex County, New Jersey. In 1847, William Gulick married Hannah Groves. Both were in their early 20s. In the 1850 census, the two of them are in their own household. By 1860, Hannah and her daughter Emma, 9, are living with Elizabeth (Groves) Thomson and James Thomson, ages 38 and 44, respectively, and Richard Groves, a widower who is in his 80s. Elizabeth and Hannah could have been Richard's daughters. If so, they would be the sisters of a confirmed ancestor of my husband, a man named Gideon Groves, born around 1810/1812. Do you have any information that I could review to look for William Gulick, his wife, and daughter?

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Big.2ACIB/17.18.91 Message Board Post: I' m looking for information on a possible marriage between the Groves and Gulick families in New Jersey in the mid-1800s. In 1847, Hannah Groves married William Gulick in Cranbury, South Brunswick Township, Middlesex County. The same day, same church, Elizabeth Groves married James Thomson. Sisters, perhaps? In the 1860 census, Hannah (age 32--Elizabeth is 38) and her daughter, Emma, age 9, are living with the Thomsons, while in the 1850 census, Hannah and William were in their own household. In the same 1860 census record, the household also includes an 80-something man, Richard Groves, a widower, who might be Hannah and Elizabeth's father. I have not yet found any records to support this theory, but am interested in your Gulick database.

Surnames: Gulick, Groves, Thomson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Big.2ACIB/162 Message Board Post: I'm looking for info on Hannah Groves, born about 1828, probably in Middlesex County, New Jersey. She married William Gulick (also spelled Gulic) in 1847, and I believe they had a daughter, Emma. I'm just beginning to research this line and am wondering if Hannah was the sister of Elizabeth Groves, who was married to James Thomson/Thompson. According to some records I've seen, Elizabeth and James were married on the same day, in the same church, in Cranbury, NJ. Sisters having a double wedding? In the 1860 census, Hannah and Emma Gulick are living with Elizabeth and James Thomson, as well as with a man in his 80s, Richard Groves. Theory, with no evidence yet: Richard was Elizabeth and Hannah's father. His late wife was also named Hannah (Lyon/Lyons). It's a common name, but it wouldn't be unusual for a child to be named for her mother. Anyone know these familes?

    2. LK
    3. Looking for any information on African American Gullick families from the following areas: Tennessee, Oklahoma, Kansas, Michigan. My great great grandfather was George Gullick (born in Tennessee in about 1864) who married Nancy (Nannie) Napier (Nancy was raised Napier, however, her maiden name was Scaman; she was born in Tennessee about 1865). They lived in Tennessee where George owned two farms (as told to me by one of his grandsons, he also said that some sharecroppers worked the land--would like to know how to verify either part of this). At the turn of the 20th century (abt. 1900 or 1901), they moved to Oklahoma Territory and stayed for a while. Later in the 1900's, about the 1920's or so, they moved to Kansas. Some eventually moved to Michigan. George and Nannie had 16 children, 8 boys and 8 girls. George was the son of Anthony Gullick and Lucy (?) Gullick (both born about 1820, Anthony in Tennessee and Lucy in North Carolina-?). Both Anthony and Lucy are listed as Mulattos. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
