I think they came from Lemberg area, not sure if Warren Co. is the first place they settled. Henry Gross married Anna Marie ? in Germany. Census records have her as Mary and Anna M., Court House land records have her as Anna Marie In 1853 Pleasant Twp. and 1854 in Conewango Twp. Children are Ellen b.1844 Germany d.?; Adam b.8/1845 Germany, d.3/7/1902 Warren Co.; Elizabeth b.1846 Pa. d.?; Henry Jr. b.1847 Pa. d.5/16/1880 Conewango Twp.; George F. (My Line) b.10/1849 Pa. d.1/14/1931 Conewango Twp., Married Barbara ? b. Lemberg, Germany d. 1956 Warren ; Jacob P. b.1853 Pa. d.7/27/1890 Meadville, Crawford Co.; Anna Mary b.1856, Pa. d.10/18/1871 Con. Twp.; Fred M. b.1859 d.?; Nathaniel b.1860 Pa. d.8/14/1917 Kane, McKean Co. I also have another Gross line, Jacob b. 1845 Germany d. 1895 Rochester, NY. stated on her daughter`s marriage lic. After he died the family moved to Glade Twp., Warren Co. My grandmother (Henry`s Line) and a couple of other people from this line, said the two lines are related, I haven`t found the connection yet. In your research have you come across Henry or Jacob. I was also told that Jacob`s last name was Grossup or Grossip, and changed it when he came over. Jacob`s son John changed his to Ross when he moved to Jamestown, NY.
