    1. [GROB] Joseph Grob wife Mary E. (Mueller) Grob
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: buckdonnap Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.grob/77/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am trying to locate relitives/descendents of Joseph Grob born in 1894 in Switzerland and his wife Mary E. Mueller Grob also born in Switaerland. They immigrated to the U.S. in 1920 bringing with them a daughter Mary born in Abt. 1919 or 1920 in Switzerland. They evidently arrived in the U.S. after the 1920 Census; their first son Louie (possibly Louis) was born in 1920 in Ohio! Hoping they joined other family members. Appreciate any help or leads! Thank you I have located them in the 1930, 1940 Census but can find nothing prior to that to give me a lead to siblings or relatives of Joseph/Josef that may have arrived in the U.S. prior. As Louie was born in Ohio, was hoping to locate family there which could have been the reason for them liteing in Ohio! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: lilmar1942 Surnames: Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.grob/73/mb.ashx Message Board Post: >From the Chatsworth Plaindealer Chatsworth,Livingston,Illinois MRS. ELIZABETH GROB JULY 30, 1897 At the family home on Oak street, Thursday morning, July 29, 1897, Mrs. Elizabeth Grob, aged 45 years, 1 month and 3 days. Mrs. Grob, whose maiden name was Walter, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Walter, of this city, was born in Baden, Germany, June 26, 1852, and came with her parents to America in 1856. In 1873 she was married to George J. Grob. Nine children were born to them, six of whom, with their father, her aged father and mother, and a large circle of other relatives are left to mourn her loss. Deceased had been a long but patient sufferer from a lingering illness. Her husband and other relatives were constant in their devotion and care, and all that could be was done to make her comforable. Mrs. Grob was a consistent member of the Evangelical church, which she joined when but a young miss. She was a quiet, motherly woman, who, so long as her health would admit, was a mother living for her children and catering to the wants of the family circle. She goes to her final rest with assurances of having done her part in rearing a large family. The funeral rites will be held from the Baptist church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock.
