    3. At last, a break in my research for the father of John W. Griffith of PA and Boone County KY. After finding an obituary for John W. Griffith's son, William H. Griffith, there is a mention of Grandfather, William: "Mr. (William Henry) Griffith was born in Kenton County, near Covington, May 4th, 1838 and was the eldest son of John W. Griffith, a native of Pennsylvania and Mrs. Elizabeth Carpenter-Griffith, a daughter of Rev. Wm. Carpenter, a pioneer minister who came here from Virginia. Mr. Griffith's grandfather, Wm. Griffith, resided on the Brandywine River and his home was Gen. Washington's headquarters during the revolutionary war, and four of his brothers lost their lives on the battlefield for the independence of their country while another brother was so maimed in that sanguinary conflict that he never recovered his manly vigor." Does anyone know of the Griffith family from the Brandywine River, or the Griffith family that fought in the Rev. War with Washington? I'm hoping this rings a bell with someone and we can connect. Thank you! Carol in Boone County ________________________________________________ Get your own "800" number Voicemail, fax, email, and a lot more http://www.ureach.com/reg/tag

    1. [GRIFFITH] Mary Griffith born before 1800 in Montgomery or Frederick Co. MD
    2. Lloyd and Linda
    3. Mary Griffith married Barton Harriss in 1802 in Montgomery Co. MD. The big published Griffith genealogy does not include a Mary marrying Barton Harriss. There are two or three Mary Griffiths of the right age with just a birthdate. Perhaps my Mary was one of those or another Mary entirely. Can anyone identify the parents of Mary Griffith Harriss? I've never gotten anywhere on this and ANY help would be tremendous. Linda
