    3. Hello! I'm trying to find what happened to Naomi Griffith, the youngest child of Fredrick and Ruth (Osborn) Griffith. She grew up in Lawrence County, Ohio. Here's my guess as to what happened to her, based on a Lawrence County marriage record and on census data, but I have lots of holes, and I need some way to confirm that this was indeed the daughter of Fredrick and Ruth Griffith. Naomi Griffith was born in Ohio in 1838. Naomi married Thomas M. Smith in Lawrence County, Ohio on July 2, 1857. Thomas was born in Virginia in about 1835. They were living in Aid Township in Lawrence County in 1860. They were living in nearby Symmes Township, Lawrence County in 1870, near to where she had lived as a young girl. In 1880, this same couple is Stark Township, Vernon County, Wisconsin. They had the following children: 1. John E. Smith, born about 1861 in Ohio. 2. William A. Smith, born on November 17, 1862 in Ohio (died young). 3. Ruth A. Smith, born about 1865 in Ohio (not in the house in 1880). 4. Ana (Amy) S. Smith, born about 1867 in Ohio. 5. Mary E. Smith, born about 1870 in Ohio. 6. Archie T. Smith, born about 1872 in Wisconsin. 7. Naomie B. Smith, born about 1874 in Wisconsin. 8. Kittie Smith, born about 1877 in Wisconsin. 9. Brady E. Smith, born on February 6, 1879 in Wisconsin, buried in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Ironton, Sauk County, Wisconsin. I could not find Thomas and Naomi in the 1900 census in Wisconsin. However, I did find a Thomas Smith, widowed, living in the same household as Schuyler Sloniker and his wife, Belle, in Sauk County, Wisconsin (the neighboring county to Vernon County, Wisconsin). Thomas was Belle's father. According to the 1900 census, he was born in May of 1837 in Ohio. Belle, Schuyler's wife, was born in March of 1874. I'm guessing that this could be Thomas and Naomi's daughter, Naomie B. (Belle). There is also another son of Thomas living with the family, Frank, born in March of 1882. Schuyler Sloniker and Belle are living in Sauk County, Wisconsin in 1910 without Thomas. Based on all of my wild guessing, Naomi (Griffith) Smith died in Wisconsin between 1882 and 1900. Thomas would have died (possibly) between 1900 and 1910, or may be living with another of their children in 1910. I followed this family through the whole census, but I still don't know if this Naomi is even mine! I was not able to find any access to death records or cemetery records in Vernon County or Sauk County, Wisconsin, so I can't even find dates for them there. I was unable to find much of any information for that area in Wisconsin. I would appreciate any help or connection to this family. Thanks! - Jean Griesan
