Winona: My gg grandfather's name was James Griffiths...unfortunately there so many that it is difficult to straighten them all out. My James Griffiths was born 1799 in Scotland and settled in Pa. I don't know the names of his parents. He married Agnes Nicol born 1803 in Scotland. They were married there and all the children were born in Scotland as well. There was two sons called James Nicol Griffiths b:1824, and James Paton Griffiths b: 1833. I am still trying to find them....I believe they immigrated with their parents but not sure. My g grandfather dropped the 's' from his surname when he migrated to Illinois. The family that remained in Pa. retained the original spelling of the surname. Norma E.
