Thanks to Cathy Griffith I have learned that my ggggggrand-father, Benjamin Griffith, Sr was born 1747, and died 1811 in Mauldin, Greenville County, South Carolina. He married Mary "Polly" Daniel about 1771 in Laurens County, SC. Their children were: Benjamin, Jr; William;Stephen; Hannah and Elizabeth. Benjamin Jr., born 1773 was my gggggrand-father. He married Mary "Polly" Reed, born 03, Jan 1785. Their children were Elizabeth; Stephen; Benjamin M.;Francis; John Wiles; Mary C.; William Reed; Hannah C.; Telitha; Rebecca. Stephen, born 05 Mar, 1808 was my ggggrand-father. *His first wife was unknown. Together their children were: William King;Mary E.; Sarah C; Rosida; Asa; Teletha; Martha. He then married Charlotte Inlow, born 1823. William King was my gggrand-father. He married Esther Wikle, born 1825. They lived in Gilmer Co. Georgia. Together their children were: Stephen Henery; John Benjamin; Levi; Sarah Ann; William; Mary Elizabeth and Rebecca Jane. John Benjamin was my ggrand-father. He married **Mary Eliza Spencer in Rock Hill, Denton Co. Texas. Together their children were: William Evert; Tisdale E.; Carlyle; Esther; Atta; Clyde and Marie. William Evert was my grand-father. He married Ella Grey Bussey in Klamath County, Oregon. Their children were: Veda and John Garland. John Garland Griffith was my father. I have two road blocks. *The first was the name and information of Stephen's (born 1808)first wife. At that time they lived in Mauldin, Greenville County, SC. The second problem is more information about **Mary Eliza Spencer (born 1858), wife of John Benjamin (born 1853). I know the names of her parents but nothing more. Any help would be appreciated.
