Hello Judy: I have Marion P. GRIFFITH born in the Cumberland Plateau, Knox County, TN., that is all I have presently. Other info I have includes land grant record for AR. and I found him listed with his wife and six children in the 1880 McDonald Co., MO. census it notes his father as having been born in TN. and his mother in N.C. but I have found NO information regarding his parents which I would dearly love to find. Other info I have regarding him is as follows: He was the post master for McDowell, Barry Co., MO. and an "attorney" for claims for civil war pensions. I have no burial info. My great grandfather William Douglas GRIFFITH was born Jan. 1861 in MO., no dod or burial info -he married Louisa Jackson. John J. GRIFFITH was born abt. 1866 in McDowell,Barry Co., MO. no dod or burial info at this time. He married Mollie A. JONES. James M. GRIFFITH? Charles T. GRIFFITH born abt. 1870 Eugene A. GRIFFITH born abt. 1871-no dod or burial info. Odis/Odus/Odius Aquila GRIFFITH born abt. 1872 AR. died abt. 1906 he married Caroline Caldona EUBANKS. Priscilla GRIFFITH born 6 Feb 1880 McDowell, Barry Co., MO. died 26 Oct. 1959 she married Thomas M. HENSON, Jr. Perhaps this expanded info will help. He migrated to the Smith Co area of TN 1803-1805. Jonathan GRIFFITH(Jr) was married to Elisabeth (unk) also dob 1782 NC .I descend through their oldest son Moses GRIFFITH dob 1806 Smith Co TN.
