Have just resubscribed to this list. I am looking again for info on my Griffith ancestors. The following is all that I have so far. Hope to hear from others who can add to this, and hope that this offering may help others. All listed are from the Laurens/Greenville counties of South Carolina Descendancy Chart: 1 - Ezekiel Griffith sp- XX HOUSE(?) 2- Elizabeth Griffith sp- Solomon JONES (1774) 3-William JONES 3-Mary JONES 3-Hiram JONES 3-*Griffith JONES (1804) sp- Rachel E. PEARSON (1805) sp- Lucy? HOLCOMBE NOTES: An Ezekiel Griffith appears in the following censuses: 1790/ Laurens Co./ FWM 16+(2), FWM -16(1), FWF (3), no slaves. 1800/ Laurens Co./ M 16-26(1), M 45+(1), F 16-26(1), F 45+(1) 1810/ Laurens Co./ M 45+(1), F 45+(1). No Ezekiel was found in the 1820, 1830 censuses for SC., nor the 1820 for GA., and he was likely dead. One Elizabeth (Griffith?) Jones appears in the 1850 census for Laurens county, SC, at the age of 60 and along with a Loduski(?) 30(F), and a Mary/May (?) (W). or H. Elizabeth Griffith Jones is mentioned in Solomon Jones' Will, dated in April 1843, and probated in May 1843. It is obvious that Elizabeth was still alive at that time. Warm regards to all.
