Hi Cathy: My grandfather told me of my ancestors origin as he had seen the Griffiths tree of Wales when he was a young man. Also there were brothers that migrated to Jamaica and a mystery surrounded their death. My booklet on the Griffiths says not only were they in Wales but in the English Counties of Warwick,Stafford,Your,Oxford,Chester,Gloucester,Essex,Leicester,Buckingham and London. Records indicate that they were, for the most part, of the landed gentry and yoemanry of the British Isles. With research history tells us of the upheaval in Scotland, Ireland and migration to Australia and of course America, and Canada. I find for myself its having to do in-depth researching to find the original ancestor. Good luck.
