Sarah Francis Griffiths (2 Sep 1901-14 Jul 1990) 5- Thomas Herman Jones Pat Hershberger we have 2 children. my husband is one of their 4 children This is my family that would have lost branches. Siblings Elizabeth Griffiths/Mary married brothers Evan D. and I believe a brother John but I would have to verify that one. It was John's line who went by wagon train to KS I believe. I both the Griffiths women died leaving the two brothers to fine new wives to help raise their large families. I do remember that the second wife for that John was a Mattie ? I would have to get out the paper. There was a nickname that would be of some help. I will dig that line out nxt wk and see what it was. That line is the KS area and they dealt with cattle. 3. I have a 4 1/2 cd set on the griffiths/griffiths family I put on ancestry. I have managed to find a few living descendants so far and think I know where to look for more. We were luckier than most a great deal of the things came our way since our line was one of the last to leave the farm in Jackson Co. I have scanned everygthing from the family bible record pages, deeds, wills b/c, d/c photos, of people/markers/material things. When I find a line I offer to give them a set of cds in exchange for family info on their branches. David GRIFFITHS mSarah (?) *Griffith D. GRIFFITHS (b. 2-26-1799, d. 1-28-1877) m. I am just getting this line in order. I death records for Evan D. Samuel that I know of. With things in OH I have been focused on just trying to keep their records accessible and so my research has slacked this month. I have seen this name spelled both ways, with or without s. Both sides eventually connect to the Shaw line of Plymouth Mass. I am redoing my tree from paper after loosing everything on my computer. Many people don't have the capability to create ged.com files to load onto world tree which is great. I had mine on there and when I tried to update it erased it instead . 3. Davis is probably right, a site wouldn't accomplish any more than the list if the folks aren't connected. Something that is done on one of the other list I'm on is a "ROLL CALL". Each of the listers post their line up or down to the living ones or name change. As we have seen, the listers have connections, and at any given time there could be new ones on the list. Connections can be made through ROLL CALL. I am not aware of any on my line on the list, but there might be a whole slew of cousins. How about posting our lines, (with dates, locations, and sources if possible) if several are connected that would be a great bunch for a site to work on the same lines----? ----- Original Message ----- From: David B. 3. I don't think we need to start a site for any and all GRIFFITHS. The online Family Trees at Ancestry are for those who are connected so they can share info. The same thing can be accomplished by searching at Ancestry or Rootsweb and locating those researchers who have a connection. When found those folks can be contacted (if their email address is current). These maillists are great ways to locate people who are connected, but it does take time and some effort. Anyone recognize this family? GRIFFITH, Mary "Polly", b. 10 Oct 1758, Sussex Co., DE, USA, d. 12 Dec 1842, Zanesville, Muskingum, OH, USA, md. 1779, Sussex Co., DE, USA, to Rev. John WILLEY, b. 3 Jul 1757, Sussex. Co., DE, Mary's father, John GRIFFITH, d. Dec 1788, Sussex Co., DE . I would appreciate any info. on Mary and her parents. Thank you. 3. Winona: My gg grandfather's name was James Griffiths...unfortunately there so many that it is difficult to straighten them all out. My James Griffiths was born 1799 in Scotland and settled in Pa. I don't know the names of his parents. He married Agnes Nicol born 1803 in Scotland. They were married there and all the children were born in Scotland as well. There was two sons called James Nicol Griffiths b:1824, and James Paton Griffiths b: 1833. I am still trying to find them....I believe they immigrated with their parents but not sure. My g grandfather dropped the 's' from his surname when he migrated to Illinois. The family that remained in Pa. retained the original spelling of the surname. Norma E.
