    1. [GRIFFIN] GRIFFINS in Western NC?
    2. Tamara Suttle
    3. Lee / Lae GRIFFIN was born 27 Mar 1870 in NC. Lee and his brother, Fate GRIFFIN, travelled back and forth from Avery Co., NC to western VA to work in the logging camps that Lee owned. Lee died 30 Mar 1911 in VA at one of the logging camps that he owned. His brother, Fate was known to be married and returned to visit in Avery Co., NC after Lee died in 1011. I do not know the name of his parents, his wife, or if he had children. I wonder if Fate might be short for Lafayette. Lee GRIFFIN married MINERVA JANE ALDRIDGE in Denver, CO. She was the daughter of WAITSTILL ALDRIDGE and MARY JOHNSON. She was born 05 Sep 1872 in North Carolina, United States and died Abt. 1946. Children of my grandparents, LEE GRIFFIN and MINERVA ALDRIDGE, were: ANNA LEE GRIFFIN b 06 Jun 1909, Hughes Community, Mitchell Co., NC; d 26 Sep 1990, Kingsport, TN ESTELLA "STELLA" GRIFFIN b 25 Jul 1907, Hughes Community, Mitchell / Avery Co., NC; d. 1998. DELLA MILDRED GRIFFIN, b. 25 Jul 1903, Hughes, Mitchell Co., NC; d. 23 Oct 1981, Tn Kingsport. FLORENCE "FLOSSIE" HILDRED GRIFFIN, b. 25 Jul 1903, Mitchell Co., NC; d. 06 Mar 1987, Banner Elk, Avery Co., NC. (THIS IS MY GRANDMOTHER) PAULINE GRIFFIN, b. 1912, Hughes Community, Mitchell / Avery Co., NC; d. 1938. Lee GRIFFIN is my wall and am hoping your GRIFFINS with western NC ties may lead me to mine. All leads welcome! Tamara G. If you have GRIFFINS located in western NC between 1850 and 1960, please tell me who they were and what info you have. Hoping to find a link between them and brothers, Lee and Fate GRIFFIN. Thanks.
