Tamara, Maybe we can help one another! My great great grandfather came from Cherokee County, NC which is in the western portion of the state. His name was Rufus Marion Griffin and he was born in 1844. His father's name was William C. Griffin and his mother's name was Tabitha/Telitha Wiggins. The family was in Randolph Co., Alabama by 1860. I have no other information about William C. Griffin. The names you mentioned don't ring a bell with me, but if you could tie them to Cherokee County, then maybe we could find some relationship.
