He had four children under the age of 10 in the 1840 Henderson County census. I think one child was William and another Rachel. He died before 1850. Does anyone know who his wife was or who raised their children? A John A. Griffin married Mary Hazelwood in 1836 in Henderson County but I don't think this is the same person. Mary Hazelwood married Alfred C. Norment in 1845 after the death of her first husband but she does not have any Griffin children living with her in the 1850 Henderson County census so she may not have had children with John A Griffin.
