Hi there, don't think it's a fit for my Griffin roots. My GGrandfather, Henry Griffin, came over from Whimple Parrish, Devonshire, England. He went to Michigan, fought in the Civil war as a cavalryman in the first michigan cavalry, and then farmed in Iowa, Illinois, Tennessee, and ultimately lived in New London, Ontario, Canada where he died. His daughter Eliza Jane Griffin is my Mother's Grandmother, and she died in Oakland California. Good luck, those Griffins are an adventerous group/ Steve -----Original Message----- From: griffin-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:griffin-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of Elizabeth Carnes Sent: Friday, September 05, 2008 8:52 PM To: GRIFFIN@rootsweb.com Subject: [GRIFFIN] California Griffins Hoping to find the family of my Great Uncle Walker Avery Griffin who was born in Ga in 1899 and died in Los Angelos Ca in 1981. He was married to a lady named Betty, her maiden name may have been Welsh. They had two sons. Walker Avery Griffin Jr. (1936-1977) and John Griffin born about 1939, both born in California. I would like to find there children, if they have any. I have some nice photographs of Walker Jr. as a baby that someone may like to have. It's a shot in the dark, but I thought I would give this a chance.
