    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: JeanShroyer65 Surnames: Cheney, Middlebrooks, Perkins, Griffin, Wade, Hunt Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.griffin/104.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Am interested in communicating with you on the Cheney/Middlebrooks/Perkins/Griffin lines of NC, GA, MS, TX and OK. I am a descendant of Isaac Middlebrook/s b. 1753 VA who mar. Elizabeth Virginia Perkins b. Nov. 1756 Goochland Co. VA (mar Isaac in 1780 Caswell Co., NC). Elizabeth Middlebrooks mar. Aquilla Cheney/Chaney (line from PA or NJ earlier to VA)but moved into VA and NC to GA. Wade, Perkins, Middlebrooks, Hunt and others connect in early VA but moved into NC after 1750's to 1760's. Isaac and Eliz. Middlebrooks' son, Isaac Middlebrooks, Jr. b. 1787 Caswell Co., NC mar. Elizabeth Betsy Thompson b. 1790 Goochland Co., VA, dau. of John Thompson and Sarah Strong of Greene and Clarke Co., GA. You will connect to my line on the Cheney/Middlebrooks line of NC to GA (Morgan and Newton Counties). My Middlebrooks line moved from Harris Co., GA into Itawamba and Lee Co., MS by 1858-59 (1860 US Census for Lee Co., MS). By 1892 my Middlebrooks moved to Rockwall Co., TX and into Hunt/Fannin Co., TX. Isaac Middlebrook's Jr.'s sons, Isaac Richard b. 1850 MS and George Wilkerson b. 1846 (both b. Harris Co.,GA) moved to TX. Isaac Richard moved prior to 1880 I suspect. He farmed in Rockwall Co.,TX. If your Griffin's were in Rockwall Co.,TX then they were probably residing close by to my Middlebrooks as they connected!
