She died in 1956 in Union County North Carolina. She was mother to my grandmother Willie Mae Griffin Starnes. Mattie may have given my grandmother her maiden name, I don't know if she married a Griffin. Her mother's name was Rosa. Later she married a James Felix Starnes and later a Mullis.
