Memorial services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2902 Lucas St. Bishop Daniel Laughead will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. Memorials may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mrs. Griffin was born on Sept. 29, 1905, in Atalissa, the daughter of Chester and Myra Ransom Parry. She married Richard Hartung on Sept. 14, 1929. She then married Clarence Carter on Aug. 9, 1959. She later married William Griffin on March 20, 1982. She had worked as a bookkeeper and when living in Long Beach, Calif., she owned a restaurant called the Chat & Nibble. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Pocahontas, and was an accomplished musician and vocalist. Survivors include a son, Ronald Hartung and his wife, Irene, of West Linn, Ore.; four grandchildren, Todd Hartung of West Linn, Rhonda Lowe and Sheryl Hartung, both of Muscatine, and Debra Levonyak of Bellevue, Wash.; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; a son, James in infancy in 1932; and a sister. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
