My correspondent, Nick Griffin, has a brick-wall ancestor John Fielding Griffin b. 3 Jul 1838 Conway Co., AR who's discussed at following Web page: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/g/r/i/Nick-L-Griffin/index.html Regarding the subject James Griffin and wife Elizabeth Fallis, Clarence & Bobbie Rachels have an LDS Pedigree Resource File (PRF) with this couple. The husband is given as James Joseph Griffin b. ABT 1780 (of KY) and d. BEF 1827 in KY. James is said the be the son of William Griffin & Barbara Scot, both b. ABT 1757 in VA. Elizabeth Fallis, b. ABT 1786 KY is given as the daughter of Isaac Fallis & Susannah Martin. The PRF has the marriage of Elizabeth to James on 14 Apr 1800 at St. Charles, St. Charles Co., MO (territory, not yet a state). It also has her married 2nd BEF 1827 in KY to George Everhart who d. 30 Jul 1881. The referenced biography of Josephus F. Griffin (son of the subject couple), in PDF format, can be found at the following linked page: http://www.hellolouisville.com/BookFiles/Pg_117-163.pdf The biography has that Miss "Nancy" Fallis "was descended on the mother's side from the Scotts of Buccleugh" (?the estate in Scotland?) I'm wondering if this may instead refer to the mother of James Joseph Griffin discussed in the PRF above. I hope someone can add more to the ancestry of the subject James Griffin. I also hope someone may find a connection between the above Dr. Josephus Fielding Griffin, proposed as a grandson of James Griffin, and the above John Fielding Griffin.
