We all have the means to send his mail to the trash bin or any other folder you wish by adding a filter based on the author: t42MountOlivet I do not have any Griffin family in North America, therefore have no use of his input BUT his input is a valuable genealogy reference for those who do find surnames they are looking for. My interests all are based on Griffin's in Ireland -- so as you can guess I must read many messages since most people do not put Ireland into the subject line....................................... I see his postings on many places and have not heard of anyone making a fuss about his service My solution is just to delete his messages or switch to Digest Mode and only read the message numbers that are of interest to my research. My two bits worth, Have a nice day and I wish you luck with your research Bob Cdn ============================= griffin-request@rootsweb.com wrote: <SNIP>Today's Topics: 3. Re: SPAM (Wayne Mann) 4. I believe the problem is that according to the message officially he isn't the author. He is listed as the author in the message but not in the headers where it needs to be to use it in a filter. Officially the author is "gc-gateway@rootsweb.com" Filters only work against the headers, that is why I suggested he include the words "Tombstone" or some word or words that he would ALWAYS include in EVERY message he sends, no matter the name included. I believe we MUST have his cooperation to accomplish the intended. Why won't he cooperate? Can't Rootsweb insist. It is not asking too much! For folks that are on several lists and over a ten year period, they have to look at thousands of messages just because this person won't cooperate? I find that hard to believe and unacceptable Thank you.
