Al. Served in the Minute Battalion in Ga. 6/3/1777-3/1/1778 although he was not a resident of Ga. prior to the enlistment. This was verified by Executive Dept. of the State of Ga., Milledgeville, Ga 8/30/1855, claim # R4309 Immigrated to Baldwin Co., Tensaw, Settlement, Al. 1792. Married 7/15/1785 Burke Co., Ga. Elizabeth Bruner, b. c. 1768-d. 9/14/1853 Rankin Co.Ms. age. about 85. Samuel's father was Samuel B. Griffin b. 1729, lived In Orangeburg Co., Ga. My ties with the Griffin's are with Samuel Griffin's, Jr., daughter Nancy Ann Griffin b. abt. 1819, Ga., married Ivey Malone, b. abt. 1775, Va., d. 1847 (1841) Al. The info I have on Phillip Bruner E. Griffin, b. Spanish Territory, 1795, Reside in Clarke Co., Ms. in 1850. Married Elizabeth McInnis b. 1798, S.C. Her father was John McInnis. Phillip had the following siblings: John Griffin b. 10/13/1789, Burke Co., Ga, m. Harriet Elizabeth Conners, b/ 9/25/1793, Montgomery Co., Ga. Her father was Wilson Conners, mother was Mary Ann "Polly" Cook" They had eight children. Lucy Griffin, b. 1805, Resides in Jackson Co., Ms. in 1855, married, John Bowen, d. before 1850 Martha Patsy Griffin, resides in Mobile Co., Al., in 1855. Married Joseph G. Meeker d. before 1850 Mary (Polly) Griffin, b. 1803, Resides in Rankin Co., Ms. in 1860. Married, Edward W. Feltz (Felps), died before 1850 Had 10 children Hannah Griffin, b 1790/1800, d. 1831/1853, married twice Nancy Ann Griffin d. about 1819, Ga. Married Ivey Malone, b. abt. 1775, Va., d. 1847 (18410 Al. They had seven children. There were two other Malone sisters who married into my family. I have a copy of the Last Will and Testament of Samuel Griffin dated the 26th day of November 1809. Also a copy of of an affiants swearing that James G. Griffin was the son of Samuel Griffin dated Feb. 14, 1857. Also a copy of Philip Bruner E. B. Griffin, stating he was the administrator of the estate of Elizabeth Griffin estate.
