"H" was Henry GRIFFIN, he did marry Edith (Edy) UTLEY in Cumberland Co NC. There was also a Coleman J GRIFFIN m; Joice UTLEY. She is named in her fathers estate, William UTLEY and wife Darcy. I have suspected the girls were either sisters or cousins. Coleman and Henry leave NC and in 1820 they are found in Todd Co KY, in 1830 Henry is gone, you may have answered where they moved on to ? I didn't try to follow Henry & Edith, figured I had enough needles in my haystack!! Coleman stays in KY, Joice is widowed in 1850 census. Possible sons of Coleman are Demsy (Dempsey), Lewis and William as found so far. These Griffins are listed in one article as pioneers of KY. My line in Cumberland NC was Thomas GRIFFIN b; 1803 son of ???, m; Nancy STEWART/STUART they relocate to Henry Co AL. Not much concrete evidence but maybe of some help!! I am looking for James M (or N.) Griffin in Conecuh Co, Alabama in the early 1830's. And ESPECIALLY his son David Griffin. Born in Conecuh Co, Alabama abt. 1832/33, next I have David in the 1850 census in Caddo Parish, Lousiana with his father James and Nancy (as spouse of James, mother of David?) after that David was in 1860 Lafayette Co, Arkansas with wife Ann Eliza (Stuckey) Griffin and daughter Sarah Jane (born June 1857), son James A. (born 1858/59), then David enlisted in the Confederate Army across the border into Texas 25th of June 1862. He died in the War on Nov 19, 1862 in Arkadelphia, Ark... his daughter Sarah Jane was my great grandma. David's little son James A. was not mentioned in the 1870 Lafayette Co, Ark census with his mom Eliza, sisters Sarah and Susan. Did he die before the 1870 census? Or was he farmed out to work of someone else ( at 11 or so years of age) ?? Susan was born after the 1860 census. Ann Eliza Stuckey Griffin married 9 years after David died to Carrell Brazell. What I need help with is WHERE was David buried? in Arkansas? WHAT happened to little James and little Susan? I have no records of them after the 1870 census. I only know of Sarah Jane and her mom Ann Eliza Stuckey Griffin Brazell. I would appreciate ANY help here. Thanks, Charlene
