I came across the James Trainor / Bridget Griffin marraige by accident and have not researched it yet since it was a fairly recent find. James Trainor born abt 1850 and was a sailor so I know he moved around a lot (this is 1870 to early 1900's). I don't know when James immigrated for sure he was married in Ireland in 1875 and his wife died around 1879. Suspect marriage to Griffin 2nd? His son Francis says in 1906 James is in NY. In 1914 Francis says James is in Iowa. You might try looking in the Newry co Down and Belfast, Antrim co. Ireland area this is where I also found Griffins matching Elizebeth or Eliza and John maybe they or family were in Ireland before England. Flanigan sounds pretty Irish. Try Ross Davie's County Down website and Wylie's website also (should be able to find them thru google) Let me know if the Trainor connection works out. Thanks for all the Griffin info. hope it's not a dead end for you. Michelle Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
