I have found Jno or John Griffin and Eliza Griffin witnessing my great grandfathers naturalization and wedding. No one in my family knows or can remember Griffin's, but they must have been pretty good friends or I suspect family. The time period for these documents were from 1906 to 1914. I called the cemetery that Trainor's are buried at here locally and just out of curiosity asked about John and Elizabeth also and they turned out to be at same cemetary in same lot. My great grandfather also says that his mother and father Trainor are in Iowa in 1914. It's interesting that you say they were in England. I'm researching my family, Trainor's in Northern Ireland. But I'm wondering if my great great grandfather James Trainor may have married a Bridget Griffin in England. And if this is possibly how the Griffin's and Trainor's came to be in Spokane and Iowa? Just in case you haven't found this information. I found John and Eliza or Elizabeth in census record here. I don't remember what date but it was on Ancestry search in the Spokane Census. She was about 60 and widowed and John I beleive is her son in his 30's. There is also a group of Griffins in the early 1800's Spokane census. Sounds like it's not the same Griffin's but just in case you can use the information. Good luck, Michelle Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
