Would any of you GRIFFIN family researchers know anything about a John L. Griffin family below? For over 10 years I have searched for the family of my Grandfather THOMAS GRIFFIN according to the 1900 census Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory (later OK) Thomas Griffin said he was born Mar 1855 in Alabama & both parents born SC. Thomas died in 1909 when my Mom was 10 years old. Mom said the only people from her Dad's family she ever met were Jefferson C. Griffin and his sister Alice Griffin married to Benjamin Coe. I have researched Benj. and Alice and have never discovered a wife or child for Jefferson and the Coe family told me Benj. and Alice had no children of their own. A GRIFFIN family researcher said he thought my Thomas could be the son of John L. Griffin below. I have been trying to research this family. I don't have any of these names . My Griffins came from Lawrence Co. Tenn. Bluford Griffin born 1815 was the father of James Cornelius Griffin. James C.Griffin was in the war but had three children after the war. Twins James Avery and Irvin Cornelius born 23 April 1867.and a daughter Ida E. Griffin. The three later moved to Texas. Irvin C.Griffin died 1910 in Collin Co.
