I'm still looking around for this information, but I've made some progress. I know that my Eliz Griffin came over from ENGLAND< with Husband Charles Griffin. They farmed in Rockton , Ill. for many years, and were ultimately buried in Guthrie, Iowa. Someone has sent me the gravestones from there. I still don't know who her parents are, or what her maiden name was. I admire her very much though, as she and Chas. Griffin didn't emigrate until they were in their sixties. Their son Henry Griffin was a Civil war vet, having fought with the First Mich Cavalry, and ultimately wounded and captured, and then exchanged at Camp Parole, Md. Thanks so much.
