His family was said to have come from North Carolina. His father was a George Griffin born in TN. His brothers were born in NC. There were several Griffin families in Jefferson County, TN at the same time shortly after 1800's. They were married in Jefferson County, TN and them some stayed while others moved on West as land became available. I am searching diligently for the parents of this group of Griffin's. I am thinking the father was a William Griffin who was living in Jefferson County until about 1830 plus or about that time.
