His father George was born abt 1815 in Tennessee and his mother Olive Dunoway was born in SC in 1816. And his father was born in North Carolina according to the Census. Now it is possible, they didn't really know and their parents were born in SC. It is such a coincidence your Griffin is named Andrew J. Griffin.
