Not all counties still have all their records (some lost in civil war and/or due to fires). Some marriages between NA and Indian Countrymen may not have been formally recorded. 1750 though is really early...but not impossible. Most of the discussion in the books I've mentioned seem to revolve around the period post revolution-1820...but there were "long hunters" before that and other early fur trappers/traders. Have you contacted the Chatham County Historical Assn? They may be able to point you to relevant sources for further research/possibly some early history documents not found in many libraries. Anyway, I do wish you luck. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
