Author: NWillian Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.griffin/6658.1.1.1.1.2.2.2.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: By all means! i have been searching for 10 years for my 3rd gt grandfather, & i have been in contact with some very nice & very informed & documented griffins who can't make the connection either. i have access to the adams book at the univ of w.fl here in p'cola, i have to photograph the pages - the curator of the archives won't allow me to copy them - i might bend the spine:) he wasn't there when i took my camera:) at any rate, there are more than just a few connections in that part of barbour cty & henry cty. the lee's fillingims, hawkins, hartzogs, creels, adams, the albrittons from next door in randolph cty. my 2nd gt grandfather was joseph alexander griffin who married the 1st child of lewis nashwell adams & alice jane albritton. i know there is only one extra special mary & joseph, & i seriously doubt my 2nd gt grandparents are the ones mentioned int the Bible:) somewhere out there is his father charles. family history lists his name as charles - which is a name that! appears on several occassions - w/a dob of 1809 in ga. the family historian was a librarian & charles was her 2nd gt grandfather. she has his wife as a caroline smith. i would relly love to swap info, how do you want to do it? my email is clubcurve@bellsouth.net. your last name is sexton. my dad's maternal grandmother was a sexton. this should be interesting. do you want to see my tree? please, just ignore all the duplications, i honestly don't know what i am doing to generate 4-5 of the same people. i try very hard to make sure before i link other info, but darned if they just don't replicate themselves faster than rabbits! have i talked to you yet? i started my search 10 years ago for ole charles, but then as i kept finding more & more - well, i have ended up w/one giant forest of trees - all rolled in one! i hunt for this acorn until i can't stand it anymore & then pick up another one & search it. i don't know if i have spoken to you or not, i do know that there was a charles & a caroline or emeline, or emily, that appears in the census for barbour cty, but there is such a HUGE gap between my joseph & their next child which is named charles jr. and in one census, little charles married a missouri & lives next door to the only ch! arles i can find that could actually fit the bill. but no proof. if i haven't already, i will put your name down for access to my tree, but now remember, gremlins have been playing in my forest for awhile now! look forward to further talks. nancy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
