Then if you look on the Government rations rolls of 1836-1838 for New Echota there is a Daniel Griffin, Sr. listed. I can find no other information about him. His Son Daniel Griffin Jr. and I am not sure who he took with him, but he did die right after arriving Oklahoma. I have not found where he is buried. I believe the J. W. Griffin you are referring is Daniel Sr.s brother James W. Griffin, he did go to Oklahoma and is buried there. Please go look at my tree and let me know if you are related in any way as I have more information under each individual person.
