My William Griffin (I think the middle initial is T.) was born ca 1813 in North Carolina. He was married to Tabitha (maiden name may have been Wiggins) who was born ca 1821 in NC. My grandmother told me that my great great grandfather, Rufus Marion Griffin, was born in 1844 in Cherokee Co., NC. Rufus was William and Tabitha's son. By 1860, the family lived in Randolph Co., Alabama.
