My Griffins started out in Cherokee Co. NC, then Randolph Co, Alabama, then Georgia, then Madison Co, Alabama, then Arkansas (Clay Co?), then Navarro, TX, then Yuma, AZ, then Beaumont, Riverside Co., CA, and finally National City, San Diego, Co., CA. My great great grandfather was Rufus Marion Griffin, b. 1844 in Cherokee Co, NC and is buried in San Diego, CA. At least four of Rufus' children remained in Yuma, AZ. My great grandmother, Martha Jane Griffin Crow, Archibald Griffin, Oscar Griffin, and Rufus Nathan Griffin. Another son, Charles Warner Griffin, lived with Rufus in Beaumont in 1920.
