Jesse Griffin and Sarah Woody Brooks are buried. Manerva Griffin Chandler who married King Solomon Chandler also lived in the area...these are all surnames the family has researched. Uncle Tom W. Leslie died at age 93 and as sharp as a pin but most of what he knew he took with him from the Griffin/Leslie side. Uncle Tom said there was Indian and tried to tell me what type it was but by then his language was so muttered I couldn't understand. Now I see you posted that King Soloman was a Cherokee Indian...and you have more info.....please, I would like to email and "Hook" up with you. Once and for all I would love to know what type of Indian there was on this side. So any and all help would really be appreciated....Thank you Shirley....Marie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Marie,   Does this post have anything to do with a William Griffin?  My great great great grandfather was William C. (I think that was his middle initial) Griffin.  My grandmother told me that he was from Cherokee County, NC.  I can't remember his birthday, but he was probably born ca 1820.   Diane --- On Sun, 4/11/10, gc-gateway@rootsweb.com <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> wrote: From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [GRIFFIN] William Griffin To: GRIFFIN-L@rootsweb.com Date: Sunday, April 11, 2010, 4:59 PM This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
