My name is John Coats, and my Great-Great-Grandfather was Granville Griffin of Issaquena Co, Ms. I have a lot of info on his children, some of whom moved to Texas. My Great Grandmother was Rebecca Griffin who married my Great Grandfather in Sharkey Co., in 1877. Granville was born in Georgia in about 1812, depending on which census you use. I know there is a Judge in Greenville, Ms, and there are a lot of Griffins in that area. I'm looking for any dates or information on Granville's ancestors. I don't know any living Griffins to solicit DNA testing. Our Coats DNA project is one of the top three in the world, and can be viewed at Ancestrees.com > > Message Board Post: > > If you know that your Griffin family came from Union/Anson or Mecklenburg Counties NC there are now DNA matches for descendants of Lewis Griffin through his son Joab Albert, Uriah Griffin, Jeremiah Griffin, Jackson A. Griffin and Griffin men who moved to Mississippi and TN. All of them go back to the early 1800's in those counties. The price for a test is certainly good now. > Billie > > Important Note: > The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
