The Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction, is handling the arrangements. Mr. Griffin was born on May 27, 1929, in Melrose, the son of William P. and Kathleen A. McGrath Griffin. He married Eva M. Hills on Dec. 6, 1959. She preceded him in death on April 16, 2001. He later married Lula R. Murry on Dec. 26, 1971. In the 1970s, he worked 16 years as a wildcater on drilling rigs in Michigan and Wyoming. In the 1960s he worked on the gas drilling rigs in the Columbus Junction area. He also worked as a railroad foreman. He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion. She loved hunting mushrooms. She enjoyed her flowers and gardening and had recently received a beautification award for her home decor. She was an Iowa Hawkeyes fan and a Wapello Indians and Arrows fan. She loved being with her family and especially enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's and their friend's school events. She is survived by two sons, Crotty A. and Doris Griffin and Jim and Jackie Griffin, both of Wapello; a daughter, Becky and Dave Orr of Columbus Junction; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six sisters; and two brothers. His parents would be william griffin IV born in culpeper Va. and died in Pulaski co. ky. James and Delphia Griffin's children are listed as william, Spencer,George Washington, 4 unknown children, then Permelia,Lucinda, and dau. Griffin. Bazil Griffin came to monroe co. Her name was Alice Louise Griffin and I believe she went by the name Louise. She was born in Decator, Illinois in 1909. She had one full brother, named Walter "Bud" Griffin born 05/24/1916 and died in Inglewood California on 09/04/1980. I believe my mother _MAY_ have met my father, George Roy Mann in Alliance, Nebraska in the late 1920's to middle 1930's. My parents left Nebraska before 1936 and I was born on 01/05/1936 in Renton, Washington. My brother was born on 02/11/1938 in Wilbur Washington. We lived a short time in Wenatchee Washington after that and then in 1939 or 1940 we moved to Noxon, Montana. She died then in the summer of 1942 in Noxon. Because the ONLY information I have is from my father, and memories during WW-II. I believe my Uncles information is: GRIFFIN WALTER MICHAEL 05/24/1916 I am sure that my mother Alice Louise Griffin had several half brothers/sisters living in Albion, Nebraska during WW-II and also the half brothers/sisters had several half brothers/sisters at that time. Does anyone know Joseph Griffin 1714-1764  Perquimans NCwho married Sarah Evans Chowan Co NC born 1723. They had 5 girls Elizabeth, Lydia, miriam,Hannah and Mary.
