Jesse Griffin and Sarah Woody Brooks are buried. Manerva Griffin Chandler who married King Solomon Chandler also lived in the area...these are all surnames the family has researched. Uncle Tom W. Leslie died at age 93 and as sharp as a pin but most of what he knew he took with him from the Griffin/Leslie side. Uncle Tom said there was Indian and tried to tell me what type it was but by then his language was so muttered I couldn't understand. Now I see you posted that King Soloman was a Cherokee Indian...and you have more info.....please, I would like to email and "Hook" up with you. Once and for all I would love to know what type of Indian there was on this side. So any and all help would really be appreciated....Thank you Shirley....Marie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Her death certificate lists Lee Garrison and Fannie Unknown as her parents, and give SC as the birthplace for all three. Lula and John had the following children Jesse (1908), Annie Mae (1910), James (1915), and Ruby (1918). Sadly, that's all I have. Author: jdstiff Surnames: Griffin Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.griffin/6248.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: It's definitely the same family. My condolences on the lost of your mother. My Mom absolutely remembers her and said that she would be contacting her sister, Billie to let her know about Pansy's passing. I think your mother may have called me a few years back trying to locate my mother. I had always heard that my Grand-Dads name was Carl also...until mother sprung his real name of Coral Theodore Mcintyre Griffin on me. I'm not sure about the spelling of McIntyre. She gave the names of all his sisters and brother, Ivy Benjamin, Myrtle, Pearl, Jewel and Laurel. My Grandparents last home was at Lake Tawakoni. I believe it was a small development called Kochise Village. Their son, James Griffin (Uncle Butch)and his family lives just west of Wills Point. I called my mother tonight and she said she thought she remembered you being a large man and she thought the last time she remembered seeing your family at a reunion, ya'll came in a motor home? Maybe my mom can share some infor! mation with you that you haven't already found out. She is still very sharp, active, drives, and works a little. The reunions fell away after Granny Griffin (Tommy Fay) past away. We are trying to put one together for this July 3rd at my brothers house here in Mesquite. If you'd like to correspond through regular e-mail, you can reach me at jdstiff@att.net. I could then give you a phone number to reach me at. I look forward to talking to you further. I've been to see Coral, I thought it was Carl, and Faye when I was younger. We use to always go to the family reunion in Greenville.
