T. (Buck) Griffin, 66, farmer of East Navarro County and political leader for years, who was killed instantly Tuesday night when his car overturned several times near Powell will be held here Thursday. Passerby found his wrecked automobile soon after the crash. Griffin's body and that of Mrs. Elsie Knipe of Corsicana were near the car. Mrs. Knipe is not expected to live. She received a broken arm and critical internal injuries. Griffin formerly was chairman of the Navarro County Debt Conciliation Board, having been appointed by Gov. Miriam K Ferguson. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. A.D.Thomas of Overton. Mrs. Harve Travis nd Mrs. J.H Bruner of Corsicana, Mrs. Jack Cotton of Eunice. N. M. and Mrs Tommis Phillips of Kerens, four sons, Joe, Oscar and W.T. Griffin Jr. of Kerens, and Walter Griffin of Corsicana; four brothers and three sisters. There is so much conofusing and undocumented info out there. Do you know who all of the children of Sarah and Asa were? Do you have the names of Sarah Dorroh and David Mitchell? What were the names of Davids children with Milla? Most people show my great grandmother Mary Jane Mitchell b. 1841 as the daughter of Asa Mitchell and family ledgend agrees. Family legend also says that one of my "great grandmothers" was a Dorroh. I found a source that says that James Mitchell ( Bro. of Asa m. to Sarah) married Jane Dorroh , Sarah's sister. 28 Jul 1812 in Livingston, KY. Supposedly they had 3 sons: William b. 1814, ASA b. 1816 and Isaac N. Mitchell b. 1819. That would make My Asa b. 1816 the nephew of Sarah's Asa. James and Asa both being sons of William McLin Mitchell, either way I am in the same lines. Do you have thelast name of Susannah mar. to Wm McLin Mitchell ?
