There may be other siblings. Charlotte married unknown, and was widowed. Charles married Kate/Katherine/Catherine, born Ireland; had 7 children. James and Charles are popular names in the downlines, and Patrick is a long-running middle name on my side. It appears both passed before 1920, probably in Philadelphia. Descendants settled in NJ and IL. I've exhausted the little oral history I have, and the census has only yielded the little info you read here. Any filling in of the blanks is appreciated. Perhaps there was a mistake and he was not born in 1985 but in 1885 to be in the CCC in 1945. The CCC was the Civil Conservation Corp that was put into effect to help put men to work after war 2. My father was in the CCC, they built bridges, dams, parks, community projects, etc. Actually for census it is 70 years, the 1930 census became available in 2000, and the 1940 census will be available in 2010, etc. ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <GRIFFIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 24, 2008 9:03 AM Subject: Re: [GRIFFIN] Edward J griffin was in the CCC in 1942 > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: amer-eagl > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.griffin/6376.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > I have a few Questions Born In 1985, how was he working for the CCC in > 1945 ? > What is the CCC? > Just to let you know most of the time you cant access records that are > less than 75 years old Unless you have a valid reason unless you can prove > he has passes unless you are a cop > > Important Note: > The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
