John was my father...son of Capurs and Margaret Walker Griffin. My dad John was born in 1891 in the Blackville comunity. My grandfather Capurs died in 1894 and is burried in the Burton Cemetary at Blackville. The names you listed were probably my dad's half brothers from his dads first marriage, but I do not know who their mother was. I only knew that he had 5 half brothers and 4 older sisters who were born to Capurs and Margaret. Theirs names were Lizzy Huey, Belle Pugh, Maude Benson and I don't kow the other one. Some have Griffin brick-wall patriarchs who settled and died in Pike Co., AL, including my ancestor John Griffin Sr. for whom I am posting a link to my RootsWeb World Connect darabase page below: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=kmcmahan&id=I10013 I noticed that some submitters have your Thomas with a son Asa Griffin. If you can confirm this connection, please contact me since the above John Griffin also had a son Asa. A descendant of that Asa has tested for the Griffith/Griffin FTDNA surname project abd his results are nearly complete.
