I am searching for my GGGrandmother, Mariah GRIEST. She was born in 1807, I assume in PA, as she married there and had a family in Tyrone Township, Adams Co. Her husband was John B. SMITH, who was born in 1780 and died in 1840. After John's death, Mariah is listed in the 1850 and 1860 census as living with an Ann Griest in Tyrone Township. Ann's age at the time of the census would have her as being born in either 1799 or 1780. I found an Ann who was born a GRIEST and whose birth year matches this. Possibly she was an aunt. Or perhaps there was an Ann who married into the family and coincidentally had the same birth year as the Ann I found. I have researched "The Griest Family" and one other publication regarding the McMillan/Griest families to try and find Mariah, but to no avail. Can anyone out there help me? Thanks
