There is a long strand of Greens behind Lewis that my friend has and he is better at sending records than me. _____________________________ My grandfather was a Lewis Green, apparently from a different line and we have only been able to connect him to his father, Marion Green (possibly John Marion Green) b. 1847 in Missouri. I have a 2nd cousin who has searched for years and together we haven't been able to figure out just who Marion's father was. She found Marion from his Civil War discharge forward but no history that we can be sure is correct of his first 19 years or so. We can't even find any siblings for him. North Carolina: Census records show that he says his father was born in North Carolina. some show his mother was also born in NC. I think there is one set that says his mother was b in Tenn. Other names in this line (since they tended to use the same names on thru the generations) are Francis, William, Sylvester, Anna, Pearl, Earl, Thomas, and of course, William.

Pat, Have gone to the LDS Church to look Ancestry.com for free. Lewis Green is Marion County, MO is in 1850 Census. I think is family is from Sunmer Co. TN My Green family is in Platte county, MO and like you I stuck too. In Platte is John (my), Elisha (my John brother) Peter and Benjamin all there in 1840 Census. Only one whos still living in 1850 is Elisha Green.
