Hello Listers Thanks so much for your replies. Beth kindly suggested that I could trace him back from the Marriage cert. I must apologize for not making my message very clear! George was the Brides Father [not the Groom] - so all I have is his name and previous occupation. Can't even find his Marriage on the 1837. Best wishes, Christine
